Piece of The Sun Even in the most peculiar way The sun may shine today And everyone deserves a place in the sun When the night sky mingles with the grey And street lights fade away Oh, anyone deserves that place in the sun Ice on the wind, ripping through trees You can have all the time that you need A little less you and a little less me For a tiny piece of the sun When we walked, we chose to walk away It’s just like every day Returning to a tiny piece of the sun When we talked we talked around the clock How you and I may still be battling on Though our songs may never be sung Ice on the wind, ripping through trees You can have all the world on its knees A little less you and a little less me For a tiny piece of the sun From London town through Plaza Mayor At times we’ve seen it all But times your baggage weighs just more than you’re good for More down than up and less than I seem Could hardly build my own dreams, let alone your dreams Just a tiny place in the sun Ice on the wind, ripping through trees You can have all the time that you need A little less you and a little less me For a tiny piece of the sun

Save Me 03:56
Save Me Though grass may grow across the tracks that we made Buildings crumble and walls breach Light may yet pierce the darkest caverns Like a lullaby floating on the breeze You sang a song that tore the heart from yesterday You’ll have me travelling back to Save me, from my sorry self, babe For you if for no one else in this world For that lonely boy and that beautiful girl Let rivers flow and icons fade And deserts roll into the sea The ancient world saw those mighty empires fall So dust to dust, you and me You sang a song that tore the heart from yesterday You’ll have me travelling back to Save me, from my sorry self, babe For you if for no one else in this world For that lonely boy and that beautiful girl You know it’s hard to ever get even When everybody’s got their own take And when it boils on down to the ins and outs where everybody still stands so full of doubt You’ve got to break it baby. You’ve got to break on away Break on away now

Into The Sea 04:02
Into The Sea There was a time when reason and rhyme would walk hand in hand Run together across the sand But words fail me as I fall into the sea Man, it drags me from the light There was a moment, quite understated, but caught the eye Where the careless remarks fly And so suddenly I disappear into the sea Well it drags me from the light And I guess you know that I’m sorry You deserve another kind of guy All dressed up and no place to go Honey pie There was a place where both heart and soul could find coherence Instead of sitting on that fence But disappointingly, undertow takes hold of me It drags me from the light There was this angel who thought she was able to set the stars alight Keep me going through the night I guess she’ll shine on me When my soul’s far out at sea She’s gonna pull me, pull me to her light She’s gonna pull me to the light, babe Pull me, pull me to her light Gonna pull me, take me back, take me back, take me back now Gonna pull me to the light, say, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah And I guess you know that I’m sorry You deserve a better kind of guy All dressed up and no place to go Honey pie

The State I’m In I can Split a bottle with the broken hearted Jump into a taxi cab and take them downtown And I can drink my fill on the road to Reading Sweetheart, I just won’t put it down Well I don’t know but I’ve been told Yeah, the harder you dig, well the deeper the hole Now, I’m not the king of guy who likes to brag But I’ve seen Melbourne, the Sydney Opera House, The Southern Cross come out at night Lord knows, the state I’m in I’ve got three good chords on an old Guild semi I’ve got a few good guys and we’re going to have a try Slipping out of town at a truck-stop somewhere Sweetheart, as the melody fades, I guess I’m probably a state away Lord knows, the state I’m in You don’t have to look to find me I’m already there If you look inside yourself with no fear of finding somebody else You’re already there, you’re already there. Well, I can Split a bottle with the broken hearted

Waves 03:50
Waves Lifetime is a blast All fun and games and flowers in the window The colours in your hair Warm with the breeze floating up from Africa We swam in the moonlight All hot and cold rushing through my veins now Disorientate, reinvent And love you now and see you in the morning If I could stop this spinning round Suspend gravity and turn it upside down Butterfly, won’t you somehow let me Ride the waves one last time I dreamt something else, a something else will bring me back to earth I wish there would be a little more time There’s a killing joke, you know? Oh, how we laughed and how we let it all go There’s a choice of sorts, but it’s none at all And leaves you standing two-foot tall, disappearing So if you love me, let me go A hundred miles from anywhere that looks at all like home and Butterfly, won’t you somehow let me Ride the waves one last time I dreamt something else, a something else will bring me back to earth I wish there would be a little more time A hundred miles down this road Rain will fall and let it snow, I can’t get nothing on my radio There’s something here you ought to know When the cannon balls fly Don’t expect no self-control, when you get to the bottom ain’t got no soul So don’t expect no cheap tricks out of me There’s something in the way you move me, I know It feels like solid gold, so just don’t let it go Mmmm, baby it’s mine Yeah, It feels like solid gold So don’t expect no cheap tricks out of me

Because of You Because of you we set all the stars alight Because of you we hijacked a rainbow And then the moon commenced its evening flight Because of you. Because of everything On New Year’s Day and the first day of the spring At the equinox and on most Saturdays Because of you, I watched the headlights spill like pearls along the Westway Because of you always The future’s wide open, Grab your bags, don’t look Back until you’re down the road and gone And any way the wind may blow We’ll still be holding on I’ll catch my breath and then we’ll set the world to rights Those stolen moments, stolen hours And come the dawn, I guess we’ll blow this town, my love On the first bus, with drunken poetry The future’s wide open, Grab your bags, don’t look Back until you’re down the road and gone And any way the wind may blow We’ll still be holding on Because of you I was never quite alone In the darkness, in the darkness Because of you you’ll catch me laughing to myself “So far so good”. So far from anywhere The future’s wide open, Grab your bags, don’t look Back until you’re down the road and gone And any way the wind may blow We’ll still be holding on We’ll still be holding on
7.
Strawberry Season She says I guess it all depends On that delicate balance between mood and mellow She’s tired of trying to pretend Finally ran out of reasons in strawberry season You don’t fool me You don’t fool me Sometimes the start is at the end So let’s cliché through and shut out tomorrow There’s times you’re in another space where I can almost reach you Almost touch the sky You don’t fool me You don’t fool me She sings the blues like Ella Caught in a place between lilac and yellow Evergreen, ever seen the lights of the evening, bayside on fire? I don’t know your ways You don’t fool me You don’t fool me It’s typically un-topical, if I had my way I’d stop it all and move, love I know we’ve been here before so fight that good fight through the door and groove, love Oh, heavy weather’s on my mind
8.
One Way Ticket I guess that a one way ticket was all that’s left for you And I know there’ll be no coming home this June At times the road’s been long, it’s been a friend and stranger too And I’ve loved and hated every part of you We all wear vagabond shoes So give it up with the rhythm and blues Can anybody sing so low? We played a whiter shade and let the curtain fall And the season’s moved around just like the sun We called it stormy Monday, but Tuesday’s worse for me But I’d take any day, in any way to let this be We all wear vagabond shoes So give it up with the rhythm and blues Can anybody sing so low? It’s impossible but true that there was more than one of you But I’ll still fight for light behind the shadows Who are you ? How were we to know? Or to just let you go… Yeah, who were we to know Yeah, we could just let you go Yeah, who were we to know Bye, bye, bye, bye I guess that a one way ticket was all was left to you And I know there’ll be no coming home this June

Lost On The Way So I walked around London Walked around Cape Finnesterre Trying to match the pieces Revolution was in the air Ever felt the cold in London? You could drown in the rain up on Finneterre I was trying to match the pieces I guess the answers were elsewhere So I walked around Paris And I walked up to Birmingham Saw an open sign and fell inside A bubbling bar full of drinking men And it was much the same in Antwerp And on both sides of the Seine I was trying to read a message Game over, insert coin, begin again Begin again, oooooooh, moving faster than before We all got lost on the way We all got lost on the way So I collected my belongings Took a long bus ride heading South Through a mountain range and a couple of days, all the changing landscapes looked the same And I could hardly keep from crying out How they robbed them blind in Barcelona Shook the money from every till in old Seville And they had their houses, every stone, attacked their rights and stole their home Game over, insert coin, begin again Begin again, oooooooh, moving faster than before We all got lost on the way We all got lost on the way

Breathe 03:21
Breathe Remember you, remember me, sitting on the back gate before the dawn Remember there’s a time for everything so just breathe in this song Remember black is sometimes white and that right is often wrong I could swear I caught a glimpse of you up the alley and down the hall Yeah, we were swimming in the sea Cutting through the waves Nothing’s going to ever stop you now Just breathe, breathe in, be here now Just breathe, breathe in, be here now Remember standing by a hot road, a quarter mile’s drive Tarmac glue and diesel fumes filled the roadsides Remember standing at the crossroads waving our goodbyes? If you reach into the corners we’re still standing side by side And I know, I know, I know That, we were swimming in the sea Cutting through the waves Nothing’s going to ever stop you now Just breathe, breathe in, be here now Just breathe, breathe in, be here now Guess there’s a loft inside of me Please make it big enough to hold us always Breathe, breathe in, be here now Just breathe, breathe in, be here now
11.
On The Edge 04:16
On The Edge Up on the edge, where you can be nobody You know it can get cold out there when you haven’t got a prayer in this world Then sings your soul, baby, she echoes in through the marshlands There’s a hidden light inside, you know you’ve got to let it shine Though I guess it’s not for everyone to see You’re saving grace, you’re love is strong like a temple Yeah, all the stones they worked, ran their fingers to the bone just to still stand here right now So, give it to me one more time La la la la la la la-la-la, give me life Just give me la la la la la la la-la-la Coz I’ve got a feeling you’re going to believe in this So stake your claim, your valleys and your highlands You know there’s some wild country out there, so you’ve got to get it clear Find your place, you’d better make your stand And give it to me one more time How I meant to tell you that I’m sorry How your trouble may be on the rise Life can’t be all fast cars and movie stars So please just help me to get on by La la la la la la la-la-la, give me life Just give me la la la la la la la-la-la, sweet life Just give me la la la la la la la-la-la, give me life, life, life Just give me la la la la la la la-la-la
12.
Moonbeam 03:32
Moonbeam We’re not the same We’re as different as sun and rain As different as the light of day to a moonbeam It’s not in me It’s in the sniggers and the stares of the passers-by In the pity and the fear in the people’s eyes In a moonbeam If you think everybody owes you Try to appreciate what others never had If you can get out of bed on your own two feet Make your own safe way across the street Baby, it’s the big time now Baby, it’s the big time now Maybe it’s in my moves In the awkward way that I’m held together But you’ll find love rides above that measure on a moonbeam You’ll label me Cast me in a role of incapacity But you could learn a few thing from me Ride my moonbeam If you think everybody owes you Try to appreciate something others never had If you can get out of bed on your own two feet Make your own safe way across the street Baby, it’s the big time now Baby, it’s the big time now Sun shone today And the breeze blew in the promise of May And I know that I will stay to ride my moonbeam Life’s long or short But we’ve got to learn to live with whatever we’ve got So scatter love into the leaves just like a moonbeam If you think everybody owes you Just try to appreciate something others never had If you can get out of bed on your own two feet Make your own safe way across the street Baby, it’s the big time now Baby, it’s the big time now, come on, yeah

Rock’n’roll Band When you’re out on your own, direction untold And no bright lights to guide you on your way You might find that you’re sitting in the middle of some place you never wanted to be And you might find that’s good enough anyway When you’re washed up on the waves on the tumbling sea of the 21st century Nights can be long without a glimpse of the dawn, dear And if you still think of me just casting my nets out into the sea I hope you’d extend me your hand, keep me from drowning Headlights, spotlights, the moon hangs low tonight Just take my hand and join this rock’n’roll band I’ll see you home tonight When you’re out making time just cruising the tracks to the end of the line How am I going to keep myself from me? When you give a little, take a little, mess it up and just in time there must be a chance so give it one more try On the blind side of the winding lines of the law Headlights, spotlights, the moon hangs low tonight Just take my hand and join this rock’n’roll band I’ll see you home tonight

Bonus Track 01:27

about

Adrian Pitts (London 1971), is better known for his role as a rock singer in bands like "The Capris" or "Easy!" than as a singer-songwriter.

The present is his most intimate and least commercial work to date. In fact, despite having composed for all the bands and groups he has played in, this is the first time he will sign his name to a record
